Her Family Received Bitcoin Demands From Her Phone After She Disappeared.

A 63-year-old woman vanished while visiting Las Vegas, and days later, her family began receiving strange messages from her phone requesting money in Bitcoin. Her relatives quickly realized the person texting did not appear to be her.

On August 8, 2026, 63-year-old Alisa Goods disappeared while visiting Las Vegas, Nevada. She had been staying with a longtime friend and was reportedly headed to pick up iron pills when she vanished. Days later, her family began receiving suspicious text messages from her phone asking for money in Bitcoin.

Goods had been staying with her friend, Roger John, who said he had known her for nine years and regularly allowed her to stay at his home when she visited Las Vegas. This was reportedly her second trip to the city this year.

John said he last saw Goods at approximately 12:45 p.m. on August 8 as she left his apartment to catch a bus.

According to the missing-person report, Goods was last seen later that afternoon at approximately 1:40 p.m. near the 4900 block of South Maryland Parkway. She had reportedly left her friend’s apartment near Maryland Parkway and Tropicana Avenue to pick up iron pills from a CVS near Paradise Road and Harmon Avenue.

John said he left approximately 15 minutes after Goods and returned two to three hours later.

When Goods had not returned, he began repeatedly calling and texting her. Her phone eventually appeared to be disconnected and could no longer receive calls or messages.

On August 10, John contacted Goods’ family and filed a missing-person report.

Two days later, on August 12, Goods’ family began receiving text messages from her phone.

Her niece, Alana Calloway, became suspicious because the person sending the messages repeatedly avoided speaking by phone and claimed to be having problems with credit cards while at a gas station. Goods did not have a vehicle while visiting Las Vegas.

Calloway attempted to determine whether she was actually communicating with her aunt.

When the person requested money for gas, Calloway said she intentionally mentioned getting someone named “Kelly” to help.

There was no one named Kelly in their family.

Calloway said Goods would have immediately questioned who Kelly was, but the person texting from her phone did not. Instead, the conversation reportedly shifted to a request for Bitcoin.

Goods’ son, Keven Newton, later began receiving similarly suspicious messages requesting money.

The family has since contacted hospitals, the coroner’s office, and correctional facilities while searching for Goods. Friends have also distributed missing-person flyers in the Maryland Parkway and Tropicana Avenue area.

According to the missing-person bulletin, Goods is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. She has brown eyes, black and gray hair, scars on both knees, walks with a limp, and uses a cane.

She was last seen wearing a blue denim jacket, black Adidas sweatpants, and black sandals.

Anyone with information regarding Alisa Goods’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department at 702-828-3111
