Investigators say a group of suspects tampered with apartment mailbox locks, stole residents’ mail and used stolen identities to obtain fraudulent credit cards. Five people were arrested after detectives searched multiple apartments tied to the alleged scheme.

On August 13, 2026, detectives executed multiple search warrants at a multi-unit apartment complex in the 500 block of West Colorado Street in Glendale, California, as part of an investigation into alleged mail theft, identity theft and fraud. Five people were arrested.

The investigation began after residents reported seeing unknown people accessing apartment mailboxes and removing mail belonging to other residents.

As detectives investigated the reports, they identified several suspects and connected them to specific apartments within the complex.

Investigators said the suspects were allegedly using other people’s personal identifying information to fraudulently obtain credit cards and having the cards mailed to apartments within the same complex.

Detectives also discovered that mailbox keyholes had allegedly been tampered with and replaced with “dummy” keyholes, allowing unauthorized access to residents’ mailboxes.

During the August 13 searches, detectives recovered a significant amount of personal identifying information belonging to other people, numerous credit cards, credit card re-encoding devices, cash and gold.

The five people arrested were 36-year-old Razmik Barseghyan, 27-year-old Robert Poghosyan, 35-year-old Vahan Kalashyan, 26-year-old Armen Harutyunyan and 27-year-old Artyom Militonyan.

All five are Glendale residents and were booked on various fraud, identity theft and burglary-related charges.

Detectives are now examining the recovered evidence to determine the full scope of the alleged scheme and working to identify additional victims whose personal information may have been used to obtain fraudulent credit cards or commit other fraudulent activity.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
