# She Argued With Him Over Child Support. He Was Stabbed To Death Minutes Later.

A child support dispute allegedly turned deadly when a woman confronted the father of her child outside his workplace. Minutes later, he was fatally stabbed, and she was arrested on a murder charge.  
  
On August 18, 2026, at around 6:15 p.m., officers responded to the 9100 block of Monroe Road in Charlotte, North Carolina, following a reported assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from an apparent stab wound to the torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  
  
The victim was identified as 34-year-old John Christian.   
  
Investigators said Christian was an employee at Tint World and appeared to be closing the business for the evening when an older-model black Honda sedan pulled into the parking lot and stopped in front of his vehicle, blocking him in.  
  
Witnesses told detectives a woman got out of the Honda and began arguing with Christian outside the business. Authorities said the woman was later identified as 32-year-old Keyara McKnight, the mother of Christian’s child.  
  
Police said Christian and McKnight frequently argued over child support.  
  
According to witness statements, the argument became physical as the two screamed at one another and moved around the vehicles. Witnesses reported seeing McKnight slap Christian.  
  
Investigators said McKnight then got into the driver’s seat of Christian’s vehicle before Christian pulled her back out.  
  
During the altercation, Christian was stabbed.  
  
McKnight allegedly fled the scene at high speed in the black Honda, which witnesses described as having dark-tinted windows, a pink license plate frame and North Carolina plates.  
  
Detectives used street cameras and license plate readers to identify a 2003 Honda Accord matching the description. Records showed the vehicle was registered to McKnight, and a witness later confirmed that a photograph of the car matched the vehicle seen leaving the scene.  
  
Authorities eventually located the Honda near 5401 Wilkerson Drive in Indian Trail.  
  
McKnight was sitting in the front passenger seat.  
  
As deputies approached, investigators said McKnight immediately addressed them.  
  
“I’m the one you’re looking for,” she allegedly said.  
  
The driver told detectives McKnight had called her earlier and said she needed to turn herself in because she had “done something bad.”  
  
Investigators reported finding blood evidence both inside and outside the Honda.  
  
McKnight was taken to the Law Enforcement Center, where she admitted being at the scene and getting into a physical altercation with Christian.  
  
“He was on top and the next moment he was on the ground,” McKnight allegedly told detectives.  
  
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department confirmed McKnight was arrested in connection with Christian’s death and charged with murder. The investigation remains active and ongoing.   
  
According to the additional case information provided, McKnight is being held without bond.
