A couple allegedly followed fellow cruise passengers into their room after being asked to quiet down, sparking a fight that left three people struck — including a 9-year-old child.
During a cruise in August 2026, an argument allegedly escalated into a fight after a couple followed other passengers into their room, where a 9-year-old child was present.
Three people, including the child, were struck during the altercation. Authorities said none of the victims suffered serious injuries.
Investigators identified the suspects as Gannon Jacox and his girlfriend, Brooklyn Hicks.
According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Jacox and Hicks had allegedly been drinking when they became involved in a loud argument after taking advantage of the ship’s adult beverages.
One of the victims asked the couple to quiet down.
Authorities said Jacox apparently took issue with the request and confronted the victims while recording the encounter on his cellphone.
Jacox and Hicks then allegedly followed the victims into their room.
A 9-year-old child was inside.
Investigators said a fight broke out and Jacox struck all three victims, including the child.
Hicks was also allegedly swinging during the altercation and accidentally struck Jacox in the eye.
Authorities said Jacox suffered a significant eye injury from the alleged friendly fire, but none of the three victims were seriously injured.
Following the incident, Jacox was charged with burglary with battery and child abuse without great bodily harm.
Hicks was charged with burglary with battery and battery-touch/strike.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said both were taken into custody following the incident.
